KARACHI: Citing the threats of coronavirus outbreak, Sindh Health Department has suggested to shut down educational institutions for longer duration and ban on public gatherings in the metropolis.
Sindh educational intuitions closure is likely to extend after emerging nine new coronavirus cases in Karachi, bringing the country’s total infections to 16.
Sindh Minister of Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho chaired a meeting on Tuesday and decided that Sindh Health Department would be setting up its own screening desk at Karachi Airport to screen all the passengers coming to Karachi.
It was also decided in the meeting that all private and public hospitals in the metropolis will also establish a frontline desk for information on Coronavirus.
The meeting decided that an Advisory will be issued today to evade large public gatherings, and it has suggested to the Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to put a ban on large public gatherings, including PSL.
In addition to this, the officials decided that an advisory will issue today for people to self-quarantine for 14-days if they have recently come to Karachi from abroad with positive cases of Coronavirus.
They decided to the establishment of an Isolation facility at Gadap Hospital for all confirmed positive cases, while SOPs provided to all private hospitals for dealing coronavirus cases.
