KARACHI: Karachi Police on Monday claimed to have apprehended 49 accused from different parts of the metropolis during the last 24 hours.
A spokesman for Karachi police, Muhammad Sohail police arrested 16 drug peddlers under the Narcotics Act, three under Arms Act from different parts of the metropolis.
District East police during its action against criminals detained a four-member gang of robbers. The criminals were identified as Gulam, Awais Aslam, Raheem Khan and Akbar Ali.
Meanwhile, 29 street criminals were arrested by police from different localities of the city. He said gamblers, gutka, mawa sellers, while others for their alleged involvement in various crimes.
The police also claimed to have recovered nine TT pistols, a huge quantity of hashish, 19 packets of heroin and five bottles of liquor from the possession of arrestees.
Police also registered separate cases against the detainees and started further investigation.
