MOSCOW: The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported 2,241 new confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide within the past 24 hours.
World Health Organization authorities in a statement on Friday said it had 2,241 new cases across the globe, with 84 people having died, which brought the total death toll to 3,282.
WHO statement further stated the whole number of people, who were infected with coronavirus disease, has jumped 95,333, including 80,565 people in Wuhan China.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) was first reported in China’s Wuhan province in December 2019 and has since spread across the globe. In late January, the WHO declared a global health emergency in light of the epidemic.
According to the Chinese National Health Commission, the number of people, who have been infected with a new coronavirus (COVID-19) in China, has reached 80,552, with 3,042 people having died on Friday.
The health officials received information about 80,552 confirmed cases of coronavirus from 31 provinces, including 23,784 currently ill people. 5,737 people are in critical condition, 3,042 have died and 53,726 people have been discharged from hospitals.
