Two dead, several wounded as five-storey building collapses in Karachi

KARACHI: At least two people have died and several others injured after a five-storey building collapsed near Rizvia police station, Karachi today (Thursday).

According to details, the deceased persons include one man and a woman in the building collapse.

Rescue teams and police have reached the spot and have started the relief operations. The injured people have been shifted to the nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Rescue officials said that some people feared to be trapped under the debris of the building.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken the notice of the building collapse and directed Commissioner Karachi to immediately start rescue operations.

CM Sindh has also summoned a detailed report on the building’s collapse once the rescue operation is completed.
