ISLAMABAD: Facebook’s Asia Pacific headquarters headed by Amber Hawkes, held a meeting with Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wajid Zia to discuss issues of cooperation between the social media platform and Pakistani authorities.
During the meeting with Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Amber Hawkes has agreed to share information with Pakistani authorities in cybercrime investigations.
The authorities both sides held a detailed discussion over collaboration in data sharing as well as cybercrime awareness among the social media users in Pakistan.
The visiting delegation agreed to support the FIA in the cybercrime cases where there will be needed. For cooperation with Facebook, the FIA would appoint focal persons in every province who will maintain liaison with the firm for cybercrime investigation.
The Facebook team also promised to work in close connection with Pakistani officials in tackling cybercrime as per the company’s rule and laws.
Furthermore, the Facebook team also presented his offer to provide training to Cyber Crime Wing officers in order to prepare them with the latest techniques for handling cybercrimes in the country.
