MOSCOW: The World Health Organization (WHO) has registered more than 1,027 new coronaviruses (COVID-19) cases outside China during the past 24 hours.
According to the WHO report, the number of confirmed new coronavirus disease cases outside of China had jumped by 1,027 to 4,691 in 51 countries.
It further said the death toll outside of China had augmented by 10 to 67.WHO report stated the number of confirmed cases in China stands at 78,961; the death count has reached 2,791. The overall number of COVID-19 cases across the globe has amplified by 1,358 to 83,652.
Earlier on Friday, The death toll from the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in China has risen to 2,788, while the number of confirmed cases has augmented to 78,824.
Chinese state health committee said Friday that the health officials received information about 78,824 confirmed cases of infection with the new type of coronavirus, from 31 provinces in China.
Citing the details health officials said the cases including 39,919 people who are currently sick (7,952 are in grave condition), 36,117 people were discharged from hospitals, 2,788 died, the officials added.
On Feb 27, there were 318 newly reported cases in Hubei, of which 313 were registered in Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus. 41 fatalities were also reported in Wuhan.
Since the novel coronavirus was first identified in Wuhan, the diseases have spread across the globe affecting more than 41 countries, according to the latest data provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The WHO earlier declared a global health emergency over the outbreak.
