GILGIT BALTISTAN: Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon has said that private sector educational institutions are playing a crucial role in supporting quality education in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
He expressed these views while distribution assistance cheques among the administration of private educational institutions in Skardu. Governor further said that private sector educational institutions were playing an important role in the provision of quality education in the region.
He said no country or institution could make progress alone and collective efforts were needed to put the area back on track of socio-economic progress and prosperity.
Raja Jalal Hussain further said that in the public sector, the government under the Prime Minister’s Educational Reforms Programme embarked upon a holistic come up to get better the basic infrastructure of schools and several schools and college were being upgraded in the region.
Governor said that under the program, the schools were provided better transport facilities, and modern computer and science labs. Maqpoon said that due to progress in the quality education in the region, adding that Gilgiti students were not only contributing at all levels but they were also competing at the international level.
He said Government is focusing on the development of education sectors for which a handsome amount is being utilized through an annual development program.
