LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi Captain and West Indies cricketer Darren Sammy today (Sunday) has said that he is truly honoured to be given Pakistan’s highest civilian award – Nishan-e-Pakistan.
Darren Sammy took to Twitter and expressed his feelings towards Pakistan’s civilian award and said, “I am truly honoured to be given this civilian award,” adding, “We took a small step in the right direction in 2017 and look at us here today. All the foreign players played their part.”

The West Indies cricketer also thanked Pakistan for the love and support and said, “We only want you to experience cricket at home.”
Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Darren Sammy will be given honorary citizenship and Nishan-e-Pakistan on March 23rd by President Dr. Arif Alvi.
Darren Sammy is currently in Pakistan for the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he is leading Peshawar Zalmi side.
