KARACHI: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that betterment of Karachi is the foremost priority of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing a gathering in Karachi today (Sunday), Asad Umar has said that Sindh local government does not meet the requirements of the constitution.
He said, “Karachi needs a government that has administrative financial and political powers,” adding, “Karachi needs effective local government to stands on its feet.”
The federal Minister said, “The federal government has moved the Supreme Court for the betterment of Karachi and Prime Minister Imran Khan and I have filed a constitutional petition in the court.”
The federal Minister urged for a local government in Karachi under Article 140-A of the constitution to ensure a local council system in Karachi.
