KARACHI: Karachi Kings beat Peshawar Zalmi by 10 runs in their opening match of the Pakistan Super League season 5 at National Stadium Karachi.
Peshawar Zalmi scored 191 runs for 7-wicket and failed to chase 202 runs. Umaid Asif and Chris Jordan took 2 wickets apiece. Muhammad Amir and Cameron Delpot shared 1 wicket each.
Liam Livingstone scored 54 runs for 29 balls but couldn’t help Zalmi to chase the huge target. Kamran Akmal scored 43 runs for 26 runs, whereas Darren Sammy scored 30 runs for 20 balls.
‘1st innings’
Babar Azam and Imad Wasim help their side to reach a healthy score of 201. Babar Azam scored 78 runs for 56 balls and was the highest scorer for the Kings.
Whereas, Imad Wasim played captain innings and scored 50 runs for 30 balls. Both of the batsmen build a partnership of 97 runs.
Hasan Ali was the most expensive bowler of his side, as he took 2 wickets for 52 runs.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to bowl.
