KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has reviewed arrangements at National Stadium Karachi ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 5th matches starting from February 20.
On this occasion, Murad Ali Shah said PSL matches are being held in Pakistan which is a great success of people of Pakistan who defeated terrorism.
Talking to media CM said that the law & order has been restored in the Karachi. We will make Karachi a seat of learning and cradle of peace, he added.
Sindh CM recalled that in 2017 he had requested the PCB to give at least one match to the megacity but they regretted and now the situation has improved to such an extent that eight matches are being held in the megacity. “This is the success of our people,” he said.
He said the national stadium is one of the biggest stadiums in the world but its capacity is too low to cater to public requirements. We will talk to PCB to enhance its sitting capacity, he said.
He regretted that he could not manage to hold a PSL match at Niaz Stadium Hyderabad as he had promised last year.
The condition of Niaz Stadium is still quite bad and it needs major overhauling and renovation, he said and added due to financial constraints we could not undertake the repair work.
