LAHORE: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the remarks of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres about Kashmir are a victory of Pakistan’s stance on the dispute.
Firdaus Awan in a press briefing hoped that after the remarks of UN Chief, United Nations would take effective steps in resolving the dispute between both the countries.
While welcoming the remarks, Firdous Awan urged the nation to play its role in stopping the violations of human rights in illegally annexed occupied Kashmir.
Firdous Awan said that due to extremist policies of BJP-led government, the rights of the minorities are not protected in India.
The SAPM said that UN Chief also urged the world to come forward in repatriating millions of Afghan refugees, who are being hosted by Pakistan for over four decades.
The special assistant said, “The peace of the region is linked with the peace in Afghanistan,” adding that Pakistan will always support the peace process for a stable Afghanistan.
Commenting on return of international games in Pakistan, Firdous Awan said that this was possible by the sacrifices rendered by Security Forces, adding that the return of the international teams and players showed peace and stability in the country.
