KARACHI: Karachi Port Trust Chairman, Jameel Akhter has termed the media reports regarding leakage of gas from port area as baseless.
Addressing a press conference along with Adviser to Prime Minister on Maritime Affairs Mahmood Moulvi, Jameel Akhter said, “We have examined the port and all its terminals and no leakage was found.”
The KPT Chairman while rejecting the reports about gas leakage at the port said, “All the news are baseless,” adding that normal activities are continuing there.
Jameel Akhter offered journalists aboput the visit of port area under question to determine whether there was any gas leakage or not.
Earlier, At least six people died and dozens of other hospitalized, including women and children after a mysterious gas leaked at Karachi’s Kemari area.
