KARACHI: Former Squash player and legend of the game Jahangir Khan will bring the trophy of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 at the National Stadium in Karachi on February 19.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed the news through a statement issued today (Sunday).
Jahangir Khan will enter the National Stadium Karachi with the trophy for its inauguration ceremony and will hand it over to Quetta Gladiators Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.
The captain will then pass the trophy to PCB chairman Ehsan Mani, and then the PCB chairman will unveil the trophy in the presence of owners and captains of all PSL teams.
Jahangir Khan expressed joy on becoming the part of this auspicious occasion and termed it as a truly remarkable moment for him.
He said, “PSL has been a great success and credit goes to the PCB. I hope that because of PSL, top international teams will feel safe to travel to Pakistan and this will spark a sporting culture which we have been missing over the last few decades.”
PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan termed it appropriate that a legend like Jahangir Khan will bring the trophy.
Wasim Khan said, “It is an honour for the trophy itself that a great sportsman like Jahangir Khan will come into the National Stadium holding it.”
The fifth edition of one of the successful T20 leagues will start from February 20.
