ISLAMABAD: The Opposition in National Assembly (NA) raised voices against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s remarks, that a treason case should be made against Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazulr Rehman under Article 6, in attempt to topple the government.
The opposition criticized the incumbent government and challenged the government “to make any case if they can.”
Speaking at the National Assembly Floor, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto said that it would be unfair with Maulana Fazulr Rehman and Khawaja Asif if a treason case was made against them, adding that here terrorists like Ehsanullah Ehsan escapes but cases were only made against the political leaders.
Bilawal Bhutto asked the government that under what charges and reasons, a treason case against Fazulr Rehman would be made.
Pakistan Muslim Leauge-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif said that PTI-government was diverting the attention of the people from the rising inflation in the country by making treason case against him and Fazlur Rehman.
He said that political leaders don’t need patriotism certificate from PM Imran as they have already sacrificed for the country.
Khawaja Asif said that criminals like ex-SSP Rao Anwar and Ehsanullah Ehsan moves freely in the country, while the government was busy in making cases against politicians.
The PML-N leader also claimed that treason cases should be made against PTI leaders who attacked PTV headquarters.
Son of Maulana Fazlure Rehaman, Maulana Asad Mehmood challenged the Prime Minister to make against them, adding that they would not do what the government wants.
