GILGIT BALTISTAN: Zoodkhun Sunflowers defeated Kirmen Shaheen in the top fight and clinched Leisure Leagues Women Small-sided Football Tournament, which was played at Chupersun area of Gilgit-Baltistan.
As many as 10 teams participated in the tournament on the knockout basis at a place where temperatures fell below freezing point -15 degrees to be accurate, and the field has to be cleared of snow for play.
Zoodkhun Sunflowers emerged victorious after a tough battle with Kirmen Shaheen in the final.
The first half ended with the scores level at 1-1 while the second half ended with any addition in score-line. However, Zoodkhun’s side managed to score in the extra time to annex the title to its name.
Halima Naseer from Kirmen Shaheen and Komal Amin from Rashit Dadshah were named women of the tournament for scoring eight goals each in the four-day event.
