THATTA: Provincial Minister of Fisheries and Livestock Abdul Bari Pitafi inaugurated the newly constructed building of Conservation and Information Center at Keenjhar Lake at a cost of Rs7 million.
Secretary Fisheries and Livestock Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar, Director General Fisheries Mir Allah Dad Talpur, Director Fisheries, Deputy Director Fisheries Khalil ur Rehman Wagan and other officials were present.
While Talking to journalists, the minister said that the Fisheries Department is working day and night for the welfare of fishermen.
He said that a large number of cattle heads have been vaccinated in Sindh including Tharparkar, Nangar Parker, Cholistan and Ghotki while 40% budget has been used for vaccination.
He said that this year 6.4mn fish seeds will be released into Lake Keenjhar, besides fishermen have been provided Iceboxes, bicycles, nets. He said that the fishermen should avoid fishing with illegal nets otherwise they will be arrested.
