KARACHI: After being disappointed with the efforts of Sindh Police, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter sought help from Sindh Rangers to retrieve the land of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) from grabbers.
Mayor Karachi wrote a letter to Director-General (DG) of Sindh Rangers in this regard.
The letter stated that a mafia was illegally trying to occupy a 200-acres of the land of KMC Officers’ Society and in December 2019, it occupied the office of the society.
The letter further stated that a report was lodged with the Pak Colony police station in January, however, nothing happened.
Earlier on Thursday, Supreme Court directed the Sindh government and Pakistan Railways to demolish all the encroachments on lands belonging to Karachi Circular Railway.
