ISLAMABAD: Police arrested Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader and Member of National Assembly Mohsin Dawar and 30 others as they were protesting against the detention of Manzoor Pashteen in Islamabad.
According to the police, Mohsin Dawar and other workers of PTM were shifted to Kohsar Police Station from outside the National Press Club in Islamabad.
A journalist was also arrested and was earlier misidentified by the police as PTM leader and MNA Ali Wazir.
A large number of PTM supporters attended the protest, including politicians Afrasiab Khattak and Bushra Gohar.
Protests against the arrest of Manzoor Pashteen were also held in various areas including Mir Ali, Tank, Zhob, and Miranshah. A protest was also held outside the Karachi Press Club.
Earlier on Monday, Manzoor Pashteen was arrested from Shaheen Town of Peshawar and was sent to the city’s central jail on a 14-day judicial remand. He was shifted to Dera Ismail Khan on the orders of a local court today.
