KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Vice President and parliamentary party leader in Sindh assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has said that notorious corruption mafia of Sindh is also involved in the ongoing wheat flour crisis.
Addressing a media conference outside Sindh Assembly here Monday, flanked by PTI MPAs Dr Saeed Afridi, Shahnawaz Jadoon, Rasibtan Khan, Ali Aziz G G and others, he said the wheat flour crisis during last three to four days has gone from bad to worse, but the government of Sindh instead of controlling it is busy in giving misleading statements.
It is blaming the federal government to hide its own incompetence. He said we have already told the people which elements are behind this crisis. He said corruption is a disease from which the ruling PPP is suffering badly. He said the politics of PPP begins with corruption and ends with corruption.
He said the Sindh health department is facing a crisis of medicine shortage. He said the whole Sindh is facing the crisis of AIDS/HIV and dog bite cases. He said Karachi, the megacity, has already been turned into a big heap of garbage.
Haleem Adil said in fact these rulers have left no stone unturned to increase hunger and poverty in Sindh province through their corrupt practices. He said even if they find a chance to made corruption in the gutter cleaning fund, they would eagerly grab it.
He said NAB-haunted rulers of Sindh are behind this wheat flour crisis. He said the NAB has already recovered Rs8billion after arresting some characters of wheat flour corruption mafia through a plea bargain. He said that the NAB has also helped in return of wheat amounting to Rs10billion to the Sindh government from this mafia.
He said the rulers of Sindh are befooling people of this province. He said there was no strike of transporters that was responsible for the wheat flour crisis. He said Saeed Ghani should confirm that there was no strike of NLC truckers.
He said the Sindh government simply not lifted its available wheat stock from the silos of Pasco for three months. He said the Sindh government claims that 400000 tons of stocked wheat were eaten by mice.
He said even today in Sindh wheat is given to fake flour mills on basis of commission and kickbacks. He said they would continue to expose the ugly face of the Sindh government behind the wheat flour crisis.
Haleem Adil said if wheat flour on the official rate is not made available to people from today, we will announce our next line of action. He said the Sindh government wants an IGP which could act as their slave.
He said the government of Sindh along with its different departments has already been proved as a failure and instead of giving relief to masses they are sucking the blood of poor people of Sindh.
