Indian opener Rohit Sharma has reached another milestone as he is now became the third fastest batsman to reach 9000 runs in ODI cricket.
Rohit Sharma achieved this milestone in his 217th ODI innings in the third ODI against Australia in Bengaluru today (Sunday).
He also scored his 29th ODI century scoring 119 off 127 balls including eight fours and six sixes.
Rohit Sharma took just 217 innings to reach 9000 runs surpassing Ganuly (228 innings), Tendulkar (235 innings) and Brain Lara (239 innings).
The record for the fastest 9000 runs in ODI Cricket history stands with Viral Kholi (194 innings) and the second batsman in this list is Ab de Villiers (205 innings).
It is pertinent to mention here that Rohit Sharma was named the ICC ODI Cricketer of the year 2019 for his remarkable performances.
