KARACHI: Two passenger train bogies of Karachi-bound Allama Iqbal Express overturned on Sunday morning near Kotri in Sindh.
As per Railway authorities, the Allama Iqbal Express coaches derailed as track was blocked for traffic. No reports of injuries or major damage have been reported so far.
Railway police said two wheels of the bogies went off the track when it was entering the railway station. Railway traffic remained suspended for an hour due to the incident and was restored after repair and maintenance of the railway track.
The 50-metre railway track was destroyed and other trains had to be stopped at nearby stations. According to authorities, engineering and repair teams restored the railway track within an hour. After separating the derailed bogies, the train departed for Karachi and railway traffic was restored.

Earlier on November 1, 6 to 7 gas cylinder explosions sat the bogies of the train on fire in Lahore.
According to sources, Muhammad Siddique of the train driver had revealed that the incident occurred at 6:20 am and he immediately stopped the train at 6:23 am when one of the passengers pulled the chain.
He also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives, the driver said that after seeing the fire in the bogies, he along with others separated engulfed bogies from the others to prevent further loss and destruction.
While federal minister for railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had accepted the negligence of the department for allowing gas cylinder on the train.
At least 73 people were killed and several injured when the fire broke out in three bogies of Tezgam Express at Liaquatpur in Rahim Yar Khan.
