KARACHI: The Advance Studies & Research Board (ASRB) of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law (SZABUL) will hold comprehensive examinations for PhD students in the first week of Feb 2020.
The decision to this effect was taken at the 4th meeting of ASRB which was held with Dean Faculty of Law Prof Dr Rukhsar Ahmed in the chair. Dr Rukhsar was nominated to chair the meeting by Vice-Chancellor Dr Justice Rana Muhammad Shamim who is the ex-officio Chairman of the board.
Chairman Dr Owais Hasan Shaikh and Co-Chairman Dr Jawed Aziz Masudi of Department of Law and Professors Dr Shamim K Hashmi, Dr Muhammad Khalid and Dr FakhraRizwan others attended the meeting which, inter alia, confirmed the minutes of the 3rd meeting.
The ASRB also allowed different applications seeking a change of supervisor or modification in research topics. All the research scholars were asked to submit their quarter yearly progress reports by Jan 15.
The meeting decided to allow 2 chances for each candidate to pass the Comprehensive Exam. It will be a written exam to be held at 3:00 to 6:00 pm on 4th Feb. The chair asked the Chairman Law department to propose names for the committee to prepare the question paper of the comprehensive exam.
