KARACHI: A fire that erupted on Saturday on the first floor of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) was successfully doused.
Director NICVD Dr Hameedullah Malik said the fire broke out at the operation theater, located on the first floor of the NICVD was doused.
He said Operation Theater of the hospital got partially affected due to fire, which will be repaired soon. The security guard rescued the people ensnared at the affected floor of the hospital; some of them received minor burn injuries in the process, said Hameedullah Malik.
The reason behind the incident could not be ascertained yet. on December 16, a fire broke out at a hotel situated at the Karachi Fish Harbour in the wee hours of Monday which gutted at least nine luxury yachts.
The fire that primarily broke out at a hotel, spread very quickly due to high winds and engulfed yachts parked.
