RAWALPINDI: Two civilians were embraced martyrdom while three Pak army soldiers injured in Indian troops firing targeted civilian population across the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday.
According to the military’s public affairs wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Indian troops resorted to unprovoked fire in Laswa village of Neelum Valley across Line of Control( LOC), targeting the civilian population. As a result, two civilian, identified as a 14-year-old Shehryar and a 29-year-old Naveed resident of Laswa village embraced martyrdom, while two other people including a woman were injured.”
The ISPR said that Pakistan Army effectively responded to the firing and damaged the Indian post that had fired at the Pakistani civilian sector.
The ISPR said that there were reports that casualties had taken place in the Indian border forces as a result of the exchange.
Three Pakistani soldiers were also injured in the firing exchange. The two forces traded fire one day after Indian army chief’s provocative statements against Pakistan in which he said that the situation along the border could escalate at any time, The Times of India reported.
General Bipin Rawat had said that the Indian army was prepared for the spiraling of the escalation matrix.
During the ongoing process of barricading the extended border between the neighboring countries, a few soldiers involved in the process came in the radius of a landmine explosion.
Lance Naik, Ali Taqdeer was martyred in the explosion while 4 more sustained injuries due to the blast, ISPR reported.
