ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s appeal in Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s foreign funding case without any proceeding.
The IHC adjourned the hearing without any proceeding, however, a new date will be set for hearing of the case by the Registrar’s Office.
Prime Minister Imran Khan filed an intra-court appeal against the Election Commission’s decision on the formation of an inquiry committee in the PTI funding case.

Earlier on 7th November, the PTI filed a petition in the high court to challenge the ECP’s 10th October decision which had rejected the party’s applications against an audit of its foreign funding.
Earlier on 10th October, the ECP had rejected four applications filed by the PTI seeking secrecy during the scrutiny of its foreign funding sources.
The ECP had in its order raised a serious objection to Assistant Attorney General Saqlain Haider representing the PTI as its lead lawyer, observing that his job was to represent the state, and not a political party.

The ECP had in its order termed the case being the worst historical example of abuse of the process of law.
A petition was filed by the PTI in the high court on 7th November to examine the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)’s decision held on 10th October which had rejected the ruling party’s applications against an audit of its foreign funding.
The PTI in its applications had challenged the scrutiny committee’s investigation without informing party members and then leaking the details of the application.
