ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) must stop casting political threats to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

Firdous Ashiq Awan posted on twitter how the PML-N party was trying to deceive the nation under a new disguise.

Awan said that the ‘mission twenty20’ of PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal would not be succeeded as the incumbent government had won the mandate for five years in 2018.

She lamented that Ahsan Iqbal was raising fingers at the honesty of Prime Minister Imran Khan but he would not succeed in his mission.

Previously on Thursday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected a contempt petition against Awan on the axle load policy reference. Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb conducted hearing of the petition.

Awan is already facing contempt proceedings in the IHC in connection with her alleged contemptuous remarks related to ailing former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s case and the IHC chief justice has reserved the decision after they tendered unconditional apologies.
