NUR-SULTAN: India and Pakistan’s Davis Cup tie is scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced the news earlier that the match which was scheduled to take place in Islamabad from 29th to 30th November would be now played in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakstan.

The move comes after the ITF accepted India’s request of changing the place and shifted the venue from Islamabad to Kazakhstan.
The ITF in a statement, stated, “The Davis Cup Committee has voted in favor of the tie being hosted by the ITF on neutral ground at the National Tennis Centre in Nur-Sultan on 29-30 November.”

The match was moved from Islamabad on 4th November following a review by ITF’s independent security advisors.
In this regard, earlier this week, Pakistan tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi announced that he would boycott the upcoming Davis Cup tie against India.

Aisam-ul-Haq in a letter, wrote, “The attitude towards Pakistan of both All Indian Tennis Association and ITF is highly deplorable, to say the least.”
He added, “There is absolutely no threat foreseen for the Indian tennis team in Pakistan.”
The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men’s tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation and is contested annually between teams from competing countries.
