ISLAMABAD: Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is being celebrated across the country with great ardor and conventional religious zeal today.
Special conferences, events, and Mehfil-i-Milad are also being held to mark the occasion. The ‘International Rehmatul-lil-Alameen (SAW) Conference’ is underway in the federal capital.
The day began with prayers for peace and prosperity followed by 31 and 21 gun salutes in Islamabad and provincial capitals respectively.
Government and private buildings, mosques, streets, roads, bazaars, and shopping centers have been illuminated with lights. The civic authorities have decked streets with buntings and beautifully designed arches in many cities.
The milad gatherings are being organized across Pakistan. Bomb disposal squad (BDS), city fire brigade, Rescue 1122, ambulance squads of hospitals and technical sweeping personnel will remain on high alert during the day.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ended a period of inhumanity, oppression, tyranny, ignorance, injustice, and deviation from the right path, Radio Pakistan reported. The premier said that the idea of a welfare state was first introduced by Islam.
In his message, President Dr. Arif Alvi said the government is trying to develop Pakistan as a welfare state based on the principles of the state of Madina.
Furthermore, Ulema, scholars and the followers of all schools of thoughts have pledged to play their role in sustaining law and order and foil the nefarious designs of reprobates.
