Pakistani singer, actor and flag-bearer of #MeToo movement in the country, Meesha Shafi came forward in support for Film-maker Jami Mehmood after he revealed his story of sexual assault.
She took to twitter and extended her support in a series of tweets. The singer wrote, “Crying for all of you who will believe anything over a victim speaking up. You don’t want change for the better.”

She used poetic verses and said, “When we’re all trapped in our vile quagmire of filth, Who do these truth tellers think they are?”
Lastly, she addressed the director and wrote, “I see you. I hear you. I stand with you. Always.”
Filmmaker Jami also responded by leaving a thunder emoji.

It is pertinent to mention that Meesha Shafi is not the only celebrity who showed complete support to the director. Other big names from the industry including Angeline Malik, Armeena Rana Khan along with director Mehreen Jabbar have also showed their support.
Earlier this week, filmmaker Jami took to twitter and revealed that he was sexually assaulted by a media tycoon some 13 years ago. He voiced his opinion against harassers and rapists who roam freely after conducting sexual offense.
