KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to manage rising numbers of stray dogs with the anti-rabies vaccine (ARV) in Karachi.
According to sources, the cost of the project of the anti-rabies vaccine is around 300 million.
In the view of recent deaths owing to a dog bite, the Sindh government will soon start training sessions for municipal staffs to catch stray dogs
According to the government’s planning, master trainers from Africa will coach the staffs of municipal councils of Sindh. In every district, 2-3 centers will be established in this regard.

Moreover, poisoning stray dogs to death has been prohibited by the Sindh government.
The issue of a dog bite has become common in Karachi. People affected by the dogs are difficult to hand l;e and be treated as doctors refused to administer the anti-rabies vaccine due to the non-availability of ARV.
According to data provided by the Sindh Health Department, 1,22,566 people were bitten by dogs till August this year in Sindh.
As per the health department’s statistics, the most numbers of dog-bites cases have been reported in Qambar, Dadu and Naushahro Feroze. As many as 11,935 cases have been reported in Qambar, 11,330 in Dadu and 10,847 in Naushahro Feroze.
