RAWALPINDI: 87 more cases of dengue fever virus have been reported in Islamabad and Rawalpindi during the past 24 hours.
According to sources from the health department, 82 new dengue cases were reported in Rawalpindi while five patients were notified in Islamabad.
Sources further informed that the death toll from dengue fever in Islamabad and Rawalpindi has reached 41 this year.

The total number of people affected by the dengue virus has climbed to 6000 in the Rawalpindi.
A detailed report of the epidemic hit has been forwarded to the Punjab Government. The dengue outbreak has affected 1499 patients in Rawalpindi.
According to reports, more than 1500 cases of dengue fever have been reported so far in Islamabad.
Recommended precautionary measures include being cautious of mosquitoes during dawn and sunset hours, elimination of stagnant water and breeding sites, using mosquito lotion, ensuring good hygiene during food preparations, disposing of food safely and avoiding non-essential visits to hospitals.
