LAHORE: The Central Film Censor Board has cleared actor turned filmmaker Shamoon Abbasi’s movie ‘Durj’ for release in Pakistan.
The movie will be released in theatres with some filters and scenes completely removed.
A censor board official said, “Some of the really graphic scenes have been removed for obvious reasons, other than that the film is good to go.”
The movie was supposed to release on on 18th October, but it got delayed after the censor board denied clearance.

The censor board previously banned the movie because of its subject cannibalism. Shamoon Abbasi requested the censor board multiple times to review their decision. He has tried his level best to make sure the ban is lifted.
The mystery thriller movie ‘Durj’ is based on three real-life incidents. It is based on three real-life incidents including the story of two brothers who dug over 100 graves and ate corpses.
Earlier the movie has been released across the world except for Pakistan due to the sensitive concept. The movie has already premiered at the 72nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival and received appreciation.
