SUKKUR: An accountability court has granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) a 10-day remand of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Khursheed Shah in assets beyond income case.
The NAB had requested for a 15-day remand of the PPP leader. The court then inquired about Khursheed Shah’s arrest papers and said that it cannot grant the 15-day remand without the arrest papers being submitted.
The court then granted 10-day remand to NAB and ordered Shah to be presented before the court on 1st October. Shah has also been granted medical facilities, food from home, and meeting his family.
Earlier on Saturday, Khursheed Shah was presented in the NAB court in Sukkur under strict security measures, as roads coming to the court were also blocked by placing containers.

However, a large number of PPP workers were outside the court, to show solidarity with the arrested party leader. Shah was arrested in asset beyond means case on 18th September and was shifted to Sukkur by NAB on Friday.
Earlier, the PPP leader was shifted to the Federal Government Services Hospital, also known as Polyclinic, after he complained of some health issues. He was discharged from the hospital in the evening and driven to the airport.
Talking to reporters at the hospital, Shah rejected NAB’s claim that he was involved in Rs500 billion corruption and said that he was ready to hand over all of his wealth to the bureau if even one percent of this amount was proved to have been received illegally.
According to the NAB, Khursheed Shah had made properties in Sukkur, Rohri, and Karachi and furthermore, it was revealed that Glamour Bungalow, Junejo Flour Mills, Mukesh Flour Mills including 83 other properties were also made under Shah’s frontman, Pehlaj Rai.
