ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has telephoned Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah and apprised him of blatant human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) on Friday.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah has expressed concern over the prevailing human rights situation in occupied Kashmir and reaffirmed support for the protection of rights of Kashmiri people.
He expressed the sentiments during a telephonic conversation with Shah Mahmood Qureshi who apprised him of flagrant human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir.
Qureshi said that life has been paralyzed in occupied Kashmir due to continuation of the curfew imposed there by the Indian government over the last one month.
The Foreign Minister said that unilateral actions of India in occupied Kashmir have endangered regional peace and security.
According to Qureshi, millions of innocent and armless Kashmiri people have been looking towards the international community especially the Muslim world to get the Indian atrocities stopped.
Foreign ministers of both countries agreed to continue their joint efforts and maintain contacts for regional peace.
In this regard, in August, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had atelephonic conversationwith Deputy Prime Minister of New Zealand Winston Peters and discussed the alarming situation of Indian occupied Kashmir.
