ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Power Omar Ayub Khan on Sunday has said that domestic consumers are receiving a continuous supply of gas across the country.
While talking to the media reporters, he said the government is giving first priority to domestic consumers for their energy needs as compared to the industry sector in the country. The federal minister said hectic efforts are being made to improve the infrastructure of the gas field.

Omar Ayub further emphasized the need to develop a strategy for more explorations to permanently solve the issue of gas shortage in the country.
Federal minister for power further said that the government of Sindh also declined the sincere offer of the federal government to supply LNG to the province.
He said that Sindh is facing a gas shortage because a route for a new gas pipeline in the province has not been approved by the Sindh government.

He said that the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has agreed to restore gas supply from Tuesday of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) to industrial units that fall within its jurisdiction.
