KARACHI: Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported new coronavirus cases today (Friday) amid lockdown in the provinces.
According to Sindh Health Department, 19 more cases were detected in the province, bringing the provincial tally to 440.
Sindh Health spokesperson informed that the 11 new cases were reported in Karachi, 7 from Larkana quarantine centre and another case was reported in Hyderabad.
On the other hand, Information Adviser Ajmal Wazir said that 53 new cases have been confirmed in the province during the last 24 hours.
He further said that inter-district transport in the province will remain suspended till April 5, adding that school vacations have also been extended till April 5.
The adviser stated that the provincial government will engage with private hospitals to increase the testing capacity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also stated the provincial tally has reached 176.
After these news cases, the national tally has reached 1,286. Punjab and Sindh have remained the worst affected provinces in the country from coronavirus.
