LAHORE: Special Assistant to Prime Minster on Accountability Shehzad Akbar has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government was taking practical steps against corruption.
Expressed his views on Transparency International Report, Shehzad Akbar said that opposition is playing politics on the global corruption’s report, adding, “Transparency International is a pressure group that does not work in practice.”
He said that United States and United Kingdom also witnessed a downfall of two and three points, adding, “Even Australia and Canada dropped one and three points respectively.”
“Reforms are underway in the Financial Board of Revenue (FBR), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws for being modified to battle the corruption,” he added.
