ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has sought details about the health of former premier Nawaz Sharif from the Punjab government.
In a statement on social media site Twitter, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the prime minister has directed the authorities concerned to provide Nawaz Sharif the best medical facilities in accordance of the wishes of his family members.
Imran Khan also expressed prayers and good wishes for the health of Nawaz Sharif, according to Awan.
وزیراعظم عمران خان نے محمد نواز شریف کی صحت کے متعلق پنجاب حکومت سے تفصیلات طلب کی ہیں۔متعلقہ حکام کو ہدایت دی ہیں کہ ان کے خاندان کے افراد کی منشاء کے مطابق انھیں علاج معالجے کی بہترین سہولیات فراہم کی جائیں۔وزیراعظم کی ان کی صحت یابی کیلئے دعا اور نیک تمناؤں کا اظہار۔

PM Imran Khan has also telephoned Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar on Wednesday and directed him to ensure that the former prime minister is provided adequate medical treatment.
CM Punjab Buzdar apprised the prime minister about the ongoing treatment of Nawaz Sharif and the steps taken by the health department. PM Khan lso directed the CM Punjab to remain in contact with the personal physician of the former prime minister.
Nawaz was shifted to Services Hospital Lahore late on Monday night after his condition deteriorated which was confirmed by his fresh examination conducted by the government.
The medical board at the Services Hospital said that the former premier’s body had experienced a drastic drop in the cells responsible for blood coagulation.
The health of the PML-N supremo has started improving after initial medical treatment at the Services Hospital.
Earlier, he was shifted from Central Jail Kot Lakhpat to NAB Lahore building at Thokar Niaz Beg after the Bureau got his 14-day physical remand on October 11 in connection with the Chaudhry Sugar Mills corruption case investigation.
