ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Friday) will chair a meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) core committee at PM House.
According to the provided details, the meeting will discuss the review of the ongoing coronavirus situation. A briefing will be given to the committee over financial matters by the federal government’s economic team.
Another briefing regarding the relief package to construction industry will be given to the committee. The meeting will also discuss the all-out possibilities of providing essential commodities among the national amid lockdown.
The committee will also review the government’s steps to halt the outbreak of coronavirus. Consultations for the resumption of development work on projects under CPEC will also be held during the meeting.
Earlier, the PTI-led federal government decided to reopen work at China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) despite the rising number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan.
The decision came during the meeting of National Coordination Committee (NCC). The meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of all provinces, Chairman NDMA, top military officials and several federal ministers.
So far, coronavirus has claimed lives of almost 36 people and has affected more than 2,400 people across Pakistan. Sindh and Punjab remained the worst affected provinces in the country from coronavirus.
