ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to waive passport requirements for the Sikh pilgrims that are scheduled to visit Kartarpur.
The prime minister made the announced on Twitter by posting, “For Sikhs coming for a pilgrimage to Kartarpur from India, I have waived off 2 requirements: i) they won’t need a passport – just a valid ID; ii) they no longer have to register 10 days in advance.”

The prime minister also announced that no fee would be charged on the day the inauguration day of the Kartarpur corridor on 9th November.

Imran Khan is expected to inaugurate the Kartarpur corridor on 9th November on the occasion of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
The former Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh and ex-cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu have also been invited by Pakistan to attend the opening ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor.

Pakistan and India last week signed the agreement on the Kartarpur Corridor that will allow Indian pilgrims to undertake a visa-free visit to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, the shrine of the Sikh religion’s founder Guru Nanak Dev in Pakistan.
