Pakistan on Thursday set 136-run target for Bangladesh in its Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours match that will see the winners book a place in the final against India.
The match is being played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Bangladesh has put in a great effort reducing Pakistan to 49/5 at one stage. Pakistan has been rescued by Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Nawaz as the green shirts reached 135/8 in allotted 20 overs.
Openers Sahibzada Farhan scored 4 runs, while Saim Ayub was once again dismissed for a duck. This was the fourth time in Asia Cup 2025 that Saim returned to the pavilion without scoring.
Pakistan’s third wicket fell in the form of Fakhar Zaman, who was dismissed for 13 runs. Hussain Talat also failed to contribute significantly and was out after scoring just 3 runs.
The fifth wicket of Pakistan fell with the dismissal of captain Salman Ali Agha, who made 19 runs. After him, Shaheen Afridi scored 19, Mohammad Haris 31, and Mohammad Nawaz 25 before getting out.
Faheem Ashraf (14) and Haris Rauf (3) remained not out.
From Bangladesh’s side, Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets, while Mehidy Hasan and Rishad Hossain took 2 wickets each.
It is worth mentioning that India has already qualified for the Asia Cup final. The team that wins today’s match will face India in the final on Sunday.
