LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz’s judicial remand has been extended for 14 days by the accountability court in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
Maryam Nawaz and her cousin Yousuf Abbas, who is also accused in the case, were brought to the court by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s officials.

The judge Jawad-ul-Hassan heard the trial, the NAB requested to extend judicial remand of Maryam and Yousaf.
However, the court directed the concerned officials to advance the proceedings and granted a 14-day extension into the judicial remand of Maryam and Yousuf.
Maryam Nawaz shifted from Hospital to Kot Lakhpat Jail
Maryam and her cousin Yousaf Abbas were arrested in August by the NAB in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
According to the NAB, transactions worth millions of rupees were made under Chaudhry and Shamim mills.

NAB has also claimed that three foreigners had transferred 11000 shares worth millions of rupees on Maryam Nawaz’s name.
Rs7 million worth of shares were transferred to Maryam Nawaz in 2008 through mill’s shares, which were later transferred to Yousaf Abbas Sharif in 2010.
