SOUTHAMPTON: Left-handed batsman Fawad Alam has joined the national cricket team in the second Test match between Pakistan and England.
In the second Test match, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. Pakistan and England cricket teams are competing in the second Test match in Southampton today.
National cricket team bowling coach Waqar Younis expressed that he is hopeful of making a comeback in the series. England has a one-wicket lead in the three-match series.
In the first Test, Pakistan lost by three wickets. During the first innings, Pakistan performed brilliantly in batting and bowling, as a result of which England was all out for 219 runs in reply to 326 runs.

The national team started their second innings with a 107-run lead but failed to make much of an impact in the batting department. England needed 277 runs to win the second innings. When the hosts started the second innings, it was difficult for them to face the Pakistani bowlers.
Pakistan had announced a 16-member squad for the second Test against England. Among them are captain Azhar Ali, vice-captain Babar Azam, Abid Ali and Asad Shafiq. Shaun Masood, Fawad Alam, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan, and Sarfraz Ahmed are also part of the squad. Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Sohail Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Yasir Shah, and Sohail Bhatti are also in the squad.
