CM Sindh reocovers from COVID-19

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced that he had tested negative for coronavirus on Wednesday.

Murad Ali Shah announced the news after a week he went into self-isolation after contracting the virus. On a social media website Twitter, the chief minister thanked his friends and well-wishers for their prayers during his recovery process.

He said, “By the Grace of Allah, I have tested negative for COVID-19. Thank you to all friends and well-wishers for their calls and messages”.

“Although I have tried, it hasn’t been possible to respond to everyone individually”. “Please know that I am grateful for your good wishes,” the Sindh chief minister added.

Earlier, Murad Ali Shah and senior PPP leader Sharjeel Memon both had tested positive for coronavirus on November 26.

A statement issued by the chief minister’s office had disclosed that CM Murad got tested for COVID-19 after catching a mild fever. “After the test, I went into isolation on doctor’s advice,” said the chief minister.

The novel COVID-19 has claimed six more lives and infected at least 1,983 people during the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed deaths to 2,968 in Sindh.

In a statement on the daily COVID-19 situation in the province, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the novel COVID-19 has claimed 2,968 lives across the province since the pandemic broke out.

The province reported 1,983 new coronavirus cases, including 1,702 from Karachi, he added. Murad Alis Shah informed the number of active cases in Sindh stands at 20,481. Of them, 712 patients are in critical condition.

The second wave of the pandemic has taken over Pakistan, compelling the authorities to shut down educational institutions across the country and announce new restrictions to contain the spread of the virus.

Pakistan has recorded fresh 2,829 COVID-19 cases and 75 deaths due to the virus in the last 24 hours. According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), with the fresh inclusion of the infections in the country the national tally of cases now currently stands at 403,31.
