Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan has responded to the criticism of handling people arriving at Taftan border.
Responding to a tweet terming the border point as “the single largest point of entry into Pakistan for the virus”, Jam Kamal Khan said that the quarantine camps at Taftan have restricted and limited the people.
CM Balochistan said, “It must be considered that the measures were taken “may have stopped the virus reaching to millions”.
He wrote, “Quarantine at Taftan restricted and limited people and made all of us know each area’s people there,” he wrote.

He further said, “If set loose when no provinces had any idea and facilitation for quarantine, imagine what could have happened!”
Responding to a demand that Taftan should be locked up, he said, “It’s not Taftan which has [an] issue. Taftan accommodated and restricted 5,000 people.”
Coronavirus has claimed lives of more than 7,000 people around the world and has spread in almost 160 countries.
