ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Tuesday) criticized the past government for their ‘failed’ policies, saying that the past ruling elite in Pakistan had plundered the country.
“Two corrupt families did the grave injustice with the country as they made the corruption acceptable to the society,” he said while addressing a book launching ceremony of famous writer and researcher Ikram Sehgal.
The prime minister terming his constant struggle against corruption and injustices as ‘Jihad’, said that they were creating awareness among the masses about ‘the biggest cancer’.
He said in the developed countries, the society fought these evils and the corrupt elements were ostracized. Quoting Molana Rumi, the prime minister said a society’s downfall started when its morality was collapsed.
The premier further said that societies were shaped by rule of law with prevalent moral values and ethics, whereas justice was the criterion which ‘differentiated between a civilized society and a banana republic’. “A society rose when ruled by equal laws for the privileged and the poor classes,” he concluded.
A day earlier, the Prime Minister expressed resolve to take Pakistan to its real destination, saying that the current government wanted to change corrupt system in Pakistan.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that government was fully committed to encourage and facilitate different sectors of economy for the purpose of wealth creation to permanently overcome the financial challenges.
The prime minister said that government was vigorously implementing its plans to promote construction industry and incentivized the export sector because when economy moved on, the revenues were generated leading to jobs creation and revenue generation.
