ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has met a three-member representative committee of the families of missing persons and committed to keeping them updated regarding the progress made on ascertaining the status of their missing family members.
The details were shared by Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari today (Thursday) on Twitter. The premier also directed his principal secretary to quickly ascertain the exact status of the missing members of 13 Baloch families.
PM also reiterated that our bill to criminalise Enforced Disappearances would be fast tracked along with whatever other laws needed to be amended. Meanwhile PM has asked to kept informed of progress on the whereabout of the missing family mbrs.

He also reiterated that the PTI-led government would fast track its bill to criminalise enforced disappearances besides amending whatever laws required. Moreover, PM Imran Khan also asked that he be kept informed of progress on the whereabouts of the missing Baloch family members.
Last month, as Baloch families staged a protest in Islamabad, Shireen Mazari met with the relatives of the missing persons. The minister, during her meeting with the families, assured them that the government would resolve their problems and that the premier would meet them once the protest ends.
A few days later, Balochistan’s Home Minister Mir Zia Langove said that he was given a list of 400 missing persons, out of which 300 people have been recovered and sent home with the help of the federal government.
