ISLAMABAD: The government has formed a committee under Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattack to hold talks with opposition parties over ‘Azadi March.’
According to sources, the committee will initiate talks with the Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-FazL (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman along with other opposition leaders.
Reports further revealed that the committee will begin contacting leaders of all opposition parties from tomorrow.
Pervaiz Khattak also hoped to receive ‘positive results’ as he will be listening to their legitimate grievances. He also said that we are determined to find a solution for the matter by holding a talking session with JUI-F’s chief. However, the government would never permit lawlessness.
The committee includes senior party leaders as well.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan also hosted PTI’s Core Committee meeting and decided to organize talks with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
On the occasion, PM Khan told party workers “don’t get serious over JUI-F chief’s ‘Azadi March’” adding the country is already facing threats along with challenges like economy.
