Central Information Secretary Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians MNA Shazia Murree has said that the Supreme Court has rejected the open ballot in the presidential reference to the Senate elections and has clearly stated that the Senate elections are a secret ballot under Article 226 of the Constitution.
She said that PPP welcomes the decision of the Supreme Court and made the remarks in a statement issued today. Shazia Murree said that the Supreme Court has made it mandatory to abide by the Constitution regarding Senate elections.
The High Court has clarified that Senate elections are part of the Constitution and should be in accordance with the Constitution. He further said that according to the court, the Senate elections would be held under Article 226 of the Constitution, and in this regard, the PTI government should refrain from making the High Court controversial.

She further said that both the presidential reference and the ordinance of the government have expired and now the government cannot run the country through the ordinance. The PPP Central Information Secretary said that the government was looking upset after the court’s decision and the Election Commission could not violate the constitution due to government pressure.
She further said that PTI does not trust its members so it is confused and the federal government should take the nails of conscience and respect the constitution.
